DIO IMPLANT LA OPEN

April 23, 2022

Haeji Kang

Los Angeles, California, USA

Wilshire Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Haeji Kang. Really solid finish. Nice little birdie there on 18, and three birdies in your last eight holes. How good of a finish was that for you and how did that give you some momentum?

HAEJI KANG: It's definitely a good momentum going to the final round. I was actually little shaky in the middle of the round today. I just couldn't focus for some reason.

But I managed to get back on the track and then made three birdies, yeah.

Q. What were you doing to try to get that focus locked back in? I know you were talking you made a bogey on 10, som pars right around the middle of the round. What did you do to get yourself back in game time mode?

HAEJI KANG: I guess I was a little hungry, so I had PBJ sandwich and I guess it really helped like fuel me up.

Q. Nothing wrong with those PB&Js. I mean, 29 putts out here. All three rounds you've had your putts less than 30. What have you found on the greens out here? You been putting really well.

HAEJI KANG: I found out that when the greens are fast my stroke gets really smooth. Like always does that for some reason.

And I'm rolling it really good, so, yeah.

Q. Scores have been lower today. Yesterday it was so windy out there. Did it feel kind of nice to play a normal golf course today?

HAEJI KANG: Yeah, today was more like a normal LA weather, but still the course is playing pretty tough I would say. Greens are rolling really quick on the downslope, so, yeah, I played great I think.

Yeah.

Q. You sure did. It's a pretty short golf course out there. What's been so tricky about this golf course? Is it those greens?

HAEJI KANG: So most of the holes, the greens, it's very slopey, so you got to place yourself in the uphill putts if you can so you have more opportunity to make it instead of the downhill putts.

Q. Heading into tomorrow you're going to being chasing. Are you a player that likes to chase?

HAEJI KANG: Not really. I like to play my own game and then see how it goes.

Q. So mindset tomorrow?

HAEJI KANG: I will just keep the same mindset for the first three days into the next -- I mean final round and we'll see how it goes.
