Yealimi Noh

Los Angeles, California, USA

Wilshire Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Her with Yealimi Noh who had herself a day at Wilshire Country Club. 5-under; posted at three; just a few back of the lead now heading into Sunday. How are you feeling after a round like that?

YEALIMI NOH: Feels good. It's been a struggle lately just scoring, so to have a good day on a course like this, it feels really great, and I'm excited for tomorrow.

Q. What have you found in your game that's kind of helped you get out of that scoring slump?

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, just putting. I been struggling with my putting for a while now, but I just went back to my old putter that you used last year.

Just rolling it better and just hitting a lot of greens here too, so that helps.

Q. What kind of putter is that?

YEALIMI NOH: The White Hot Rossie.

Q. Yeah, love those Odyssey Whit Hots.

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, the White Hot is a good deal.

Q. So out here at Wilshire, California connection. Do you feel kind of like you're in your hometown area?

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, for sure. I love being back in California. I just recently moved, too, so being back here is really nice and just the fresh air, and, yeah, really great weather.

Q. How are the conditions today compared to yesterday? Much different?

YEALIMI NOH: Not really, besides the wind. That makes a big difference actually.

But it was really nice today, the wind. But the course condition is just so nice. Like yesterday even with all the rain, like it was impossible to believe like what the course had gone through in the morning.

But the course has been like super nice.

Q. Not terribly long golf course, but scores aren't that low. People aren't going that low. Why is that? What's so tough about this golf course?

YEALIMI NOH: I think keeping it in the fairways. There are a few holes, especially on the back nine, that get a little tight. It was very windy the last few days which I heard wasn't normal usually, so definitely a factor.

The greens are quite slopey as well, so that has something to do with it.

Q. Any game plan for tomorrow other than go make a lot of birdies?

YEALIMI NOH: Oh, my gosh, I just want to hit fairways and greens and make some putts.

Q. Are you somebody that's played at Wilshire? Have you played here before this week?

YEALIMI NOH: No. Just besides last year, no. Because I'm from NorCal so I don't really come down here, yeah.

Q. So what experience last year kind of helped you coming into the week this year?

YEALIMI NOH: I think I knew that the score aren't usually like super low here. It's a tricky little course.

So just keeping it safe and not making big mistakes is key.

Q. What makes this golf course, like what are some of the tricky parts of this golf course? The approach shots? You kind of got play quadrants of the greens?

YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, I think some of the greens are pretty undulated too, so I think a lot of putts -- and the greens are rolling really nice too, even though they're poana.

So it's fast, and with the slope I think some people might not read enough slope. There is like very tricky little big and little slopes, so just getting the read and the speed right.

Q. You said you been struggling a little bit. Did you find something prior to today that maybe flipped the switch? What was it?

YEALIMI NOH: No, I've been working on the same thing for a while now, and just kind of getting that confidence back. I definitely think the last few days have helped with that, just getting confidence and seeing the ball go in.
