Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Emily Pedersen, kind of an up-and-down day, eagle, double, couple birdies, couple bogeys. How would you assess your day?

EMILY PEDERSEN: Yeah, up and down is a pretty good description, I think. To be honest, I'm hitting the ball so bad. Holing a few good putts up there, but definitely need to do some work this afternoon if I want to stay in town.

Q. You played pretty well yesterday. I know today really wasn't the round you wanted, but you're grinding it out. That's got to give you something heading into the weekend even with some ball-striking that you're struggling with.

EMILY PEDERSEN: Yeah, today was one of those days where I could have just put myself way out of it, but I kind of stayed in it somehow, which I'm happy about, and it still gives me opportunities for the weekend.

Q. Speaking of, you're only a few shots back. Slick greens. It's kind of a challenging golf course. What's your mindset right now?

EMILY PEDERSEN: Well, my mindset is that I need to hit it a bit better, but other than that, it's just trying to take one shot at a time, not think about too much ahead about the trouble that's going to come and then hopefully drop a few putts.

Q. Playing in the wind out here today, did it kind of feel familiar to European golf, or is this just something that you've got to learn how to play it and you kind of figure it out?

EMILY PEDERSEN: Yeah, I mean, we're familiar with the wind, but kind of the green areas and the small greens is not usual for windy places, so you kind of have to be able to commit a little bit more to the shots, and even though there's I feel like some holes we play there's no real bail-out, so you're trying to work around how much is the wind going to push it.

Then today I had some miscalculations, and I think that's what happens when it's windy.
