Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Sei Young Kim. Sei Young, how important was it to kind of maintain the day you had today heading into the next couple days?

SEI YOUNG KIM: I mean, today is a little windy back nine, so couple holes a little -- we took a long iron, so, yeah, we just trying to make the par.

Yeah, and then, yeah, greens are little -- it's not easy, so you have to pick right number and then it's going to be release a lot.

So, yeah, I just try it make the hole -- just take it easy, not trying too much. Yeah, I just relax today.

Q. You closed with two birdies. Take me through the last two holes for you.

SEI YOUNG KIM: Well, yeah, hole 18 -- hole 8 I hit the driver solid and then finish middle of the fairway. I had a 99 meter to the pin and I use a 50-degree and I pitch 90. I try to pitch a 90 because it was downwind. So, yeah, it was perfect pitch where I want and I made it like this. Yeah, tap-in birdie.

Q. Yeah, tap-in.

SEI YOUNG KIM: Yeah, kind of.

And last hole I hit tee shot, little pulled it, but I had 136 meter to the pin. Yeah, it was also strong downwind and I was think about it just (indiscernible) shot with the 9-iron or cut shot, and I prepared the cut shot with the 9-iron and it was, yeah, perfect, yeah, choose.

Q. Overall I know you said this is a tough course, but what do you like most about Wilshire and how do you think it suits your game?

SEI YOUNG KIM: Sorry?

Q. Coming back here, you've played in this event almost every year except for 2020 due to COVID. What's it like coming back to this course and how does it best suit your game?

SEI YOUNG KIM: I think this course is really important the green play, so I practice a lot the putting this week. Because of the -- yeah, if you miss a short putt it can be easy bogey because when you have a chance to birdie putt, if green starts too fast you can left it -- like can be little tough par putt.

So, yeah, I practice a lot on the putting green, yeah, this week.

Q. What are your thoughts on poana greens, adapting to them?

SEI YOUNG KIM: I mean, I'm not really like poana green. But, yeah, getting used to the poana, yeah.

Q. We talked to Inbee earlier in the week who said this really felt like, this community felt like home.

SEI YOUNG KIM: Yeah.

Q. What's it like coming back to LA, especially with back to back events here?

SEI YOUNG KIM: Yeah, I mean this location, so a lot of good cafe and Korean restaurants, so, yeah, I can order very used to food, Korean food.

Yeah, it's good. It feels like it's Korea.

Q. That's exactly what she said. What's your favorite thing to get when you come back to LA?

SEI YOUNG KIM: LA is nice weather. Here is everything, so it's kind of the city vibe. Yeah, like I like here. So, yeah, good place. A lot of good restaurant, yeah.

Q. As you close strong as we talked about before, how much will that help as you head into tomorrow?

SEI YOUNG KIM: Well, I mean, just wrestle around, I just trying do my best. Yeah, I just enjoy with a lot of fans here, yeah.
