Quick Quotes

Q. Aaron, how would you kind of characterize your round today?

AARON WISE: Really good at scoring, not very good at hitting the ball. So got to go work on that.

Q. The wind came out a different direction today. How did the golf course play? More difficult or the same?

AARON WISE: I felt it played more difficult, but that could be because I played a little worse.

It's just different. Every hole that was downwind was into the wind. Every hole that was into the wind yesterday is downwind now. The ball's bouncing. The greens are really, really firm. There were a couple of greens I didn't even feel like I could hold even if I landed it one yard on the green.

It's playing tricky out there. There's trouble everywhere. It's a narrow golf course. So to play in a 30-mile-an-hour wind, it gets tough.

Q. When the wind gets like this here, does it tend to swirl up in there, or is it kind of consistent?

AARON WISE: No, it definitely swirls. There's trees here that are pretty big and tall. It kind of gets in these funnels where you think the wind is at two o'clock, but because you're in this little funnel, it's actually at four o'clock. And you never know when your ball gets above the trees, if it's going to get hit by the two o'clock wind.

It's really tricky out there. It's tough. I didn't hit my ball the best today, but I felt like I able to get my ball in the hole, which is very important.

Q. How important is that when you have a day where you're not striking the ball well, but you feel like can score?

AARON WISE: It's huge. I made a lot of good five, ten-foot putts today that either got momentum going or kept it going if they were for par. It's very difficult because no matter how good you hit it, no one's going to hit it close to the hole 18 times.

So you're going to have to scramble a little bit when the wind is up, and I did an amazing job of that today.

Q. What do you have to clean up heading into the weekend with your ball striking?

AARON WISE: I don't know. I'm going to take some videos and see where it's at. I felt heading into the week that it was really good. I hit the ball pretty good yesterday, not as good as I wanted, and I felt like it was worse today. So I've got to go find something and get in a little better spot.
