LOTTE CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY HOAKALEI

April 13, 2022

Gemma Dryburgh

Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii, USA

Hoakalei Country Club

Press Conference

Q. 5-under in this wind, you'll take it, huh?

GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yes, yeah. We were lucky to get out kind of before it really started blowing.

When we made the turn it got pretty strong. Yeah, just used my Scottish knowledge, I guess.

Q. Exactly. You know how to play in conditions, or worse conditions.

GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, this is warm.

Q. At least it's sunny and windy, right?

GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, exactly.

Q. And the back nine is really where you turned it on. You had the bogey early, but then all the birdies after that. Tell me about your back nine, how you played there.

GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, it was good. I had a -- just from memory I had a hole-out in the bunker, so that was good for one of the birdies.

And then couple reasonably long putts and then a couple close ones. So a bit of a mixture, which was nice.

Q. I was looking back. This is your fourth time playing this event, and certainly the first time here, but you've not made the cut before.

GEMMA DRYBURGH: No.

Q. What is it about today do you think that was different, or this course?

GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, really, this course. I think it's a bit more challenging than the last couple we've played here. I really like it.

Yeah, just got good vibes going the last couple events as well, so I feel like my game is going in a good direction.

Q. And good vibes, I talked to Charlotte about your trip to the Masters. How was that?

GEMMA DRYBURGH: It was amazing, yeah. I'm sure she said the same thing, but we both had goosebumps walking in and seeing those iconic holes and stuff we've watched since we were young, so just to be there in person was amazing.

Q. Was that your first time?

GEMMA DRYBURGH: First time, yeah. We want to do it every year now; whether it happens or not we'll see.

Q. How are you doing with the jet lag then?

GEMMA DRYBURGH: It was brutal. The next day I almost felt -- I hadn't drank anything, but I felt hangover when we arrived. It was like a 20-hour door-to-door trip. It was worth it though going to the Masters. I would say it was worth it.

Q. So now you've had those couple days; you had the long walk, the long windy walk here. What do you do after a round like this? Do you work some more? Do you take it easy?

GEMMA DRYBURGH: Take it easy. I'm going to go to the beach. Yeah, I'm going to chill on the beach and hopefully not get burned. That's the main goal as well.

Q. Exactly. SPF 100 as well.

GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, especially with this Scottish skin.
