MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 10, 2022

Sergio Garcia

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Can you describe that very nice finish?

SERGIO GARCIA: Yeah. Obviously, I would have loved to have done a little better, but nice to at least shoot under par today. Finished nicely. Could have probably birdied five or six of the last seven holes, but at least a couple of good shots here, a couple of nice putts, and like I said, we shot under par today.

Q. Masters number 23, and I'm sure each one is different, but things that happened here this week or you felt here this week that remind you of things that have happened here in the past and things that you can take for the future?

SERGIO GARCIA: Obviously, there were a couple of things that happened this week that kind of gave me a little hope. A couple of them, obviously, Stewart Hagestad, he qualified. He was the low amateur when I won. That was a nice thing to see. My badge number, No. 89, same as the year that I won. So I guess if things would have happened a little bit more on the early rounds, you never know. We might have had a chance.

At the end at least we played better. Today I probably didn't play as well, but we played a little bit better throughout the week. Made the cut again here, which is always nice to play on the weekend and get to enjoy Augusta and the patrons and everyone. That's always positive.

Q. You look back the whole week the feeling was that the results were not showing how well you were playing, and I think for me it could be proved that you still have the game to win here or to win a major. Is that what you feel?

SERGIO GARCIA: I think so. I think if, obviously, I'm feeling good and things kind of go a little bit my way, yes, I feel like I can win anywhere. It's funny. Golf is funny because today was probably the day that I played the worst, and I shot the best score of the week. It's just funny how it works sometimes.

But yeah, like I said, there were a lot of positive things this week. Unfortunately, there were some bad ones that made us lose a lot of shots. When you are playing on a tough -- in a major on a tough golf course like Augusta was playing this week, you can't give away all those shots.
