MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 10, 2022

Tiger Woods

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Butler Cabin

Q. Here with Tiger Woods. Tiger, 14 months ago there were questions if you were even going to survive that car accident. Now you just completed your 24th Masters. Can you explain the gratitude, how it felt to walk up 18 on Sunday at a place where I think there were questions if you would even return here again?

TIGER WOODS: I had the same questions, so it was an unbelievable feeling. Just to have the patrons and the support out there. I wasn't exactly playing my best out there, but just to have the support out there and the appreciation from all the fans.

I don't think words can really describe that given where I was a little over a year ago and what my prospects were at that time to end up here and be able to play in all four rounds. Even a month ago I didn't know if I could pull this off.

I think it was a positive, and I've got some work to do and looking forward to it.

Q. This week was a win just to see you here, but can you let us in on that internal motivation that is unlike anything we've ever seen? What drives you to wake up every morning when you are in the pain that you have discussed and push through it and never let down just to return again?

TIGER WOODS: It's hard. It's hard. I have those days where I just don't want to do anything. It just hurts, but as I alluded to earlier, I've had a great team around me that are super positive and have motivated me and helped me around.

It's those days that are tough. The days I feel good are -- those are easy days, but there have been more tough days than easy days. I just have to work through it, and like golf, in order to get better, you just have to go out there and put in the time.

I have, and the only -- I think the hard part are the recovery sessions. Hopping in those ice baths, doing those a number of times a day, those do really suck, but it works. Just to have, as I said, the support around me. I couldn't have done it without them.

Q. Inspirational to say the least. Thank you so much for the time.

TIGER WOODS: Thank you.
