MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 9, 2022

Kevin Kisner

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Survival out there today? Just talk about the conditions. Obviously, you've played with Tiger a lot of times at this point. I don't know how that changes the dynamic, if at all.

KEVIN KISNER: No, it was very difficult conditions to start and got behind the eight ball early. Neither one of us got off to a good start. Just if you put the ball in the wrong spot when they put these hole locations this close to edges, it just becomes almost impossible.

I fought back, and unfortunate on 17 to make 6, but I would have taken 1-over the way I played throughout the day, but it is what it is.

Q. What's different about just cold? We know wind, but does that change a lot?

KEVIN KISNER: Obviously your body doesn't move as well, and the ball feels like you're hitting concrete there. You just have no feel. It's a place you need a lot of feel around the greens. So 50, 55 and blowing 20 is not a lot of fun.

Q. PGA TOUR said you never played with Tiger in a PGA TOUR event, so what was it like playing with him in a major like this?

KEVIN KISNER: Yeah, we may have never played in an actual round. It's great. That's the guy you want to be playing with on Saturday at Augusta. Obviously, neither one of us had a great day, but I'm just glad he's back out here with us.

Q. You talk about the physical part of it. It hurts for you, but it hurts for me walking down here. What about Tiger kind of dragging that leg around? You know more about that than me.

KEVIN KISNER: Shoot, I don't know. I didn't ask him much about his leg. We were trying to keep it pretty light out there. I'm sure his leg is hurting. I mean, I'm hurting and I'm healthy, so I hope he can get back out here and play a couple more events with us here soon.

Q. What happened on the bunker out on 17 there?

KEVIN KISNER: I was up in the face, which ball never stays in the face of the bunker around here because they have it so compacted up here.

So I thought it was a lot of sand, and I didn't hit ball first. I must have hit the bottom, the concrete for that ball to come out that fast on that big of an upslope.

Q. How impressive is what Scottie Scheffler is doing around here in these conditions the last couple days?

KEVIN KISNER: For six weeks he's been incredible. I think I told him, after he beat me in the match play, enjoy the ride as long as you can because you never know when it's going to come to an end.

It looks like he's heeding my advice pretty well.

Q. What's most impressive about his game?

KEVIN KISNER: He's making all the momentum putts right now. That's what we're all trying to do is make those six, eight-footers for par.

This is a place where it kills you with them, six or eight of them a day, and he's continuing to make them. Obviously, he hits it long and straight and makes a lot of putts; makes the game look easy.

Q. What do you think about anybody's chances to catch him tomorrow?

KEVIN KISNER: He's got a five-shot lead. I mean, as long as he keeps his wits about him, he'll walk with it.

Q. What are you looking for tomorrow to get out of the last day?

KEVIN KISNER: Hopefully we have some good weather. We're not showcasing our area off very good with this weather. Hopefully we get a Chamber of Commerce day and we can all make some birdies, and they'll be a little nicer with the hole locations tomorrow.

Q. It's going to be great on Tuesday.

KEVIN KISNER: Yeah, we'll be in Hilton Head loving life.

Q. A lot of, Go Tigers. You hear, Go Dogs every now and then.

KEVIN KISNER: Yeah, man, lots of them. This is a good area of the world for Dog fans and proud to represent them out there and proud to play along Tiger as a Dog. Hopefully I can shoot a low one tomorrow to keep everyone excited.
