MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 8, 2022

Sergio Garcia

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Can you please assess your round and the conditions today.

SERGIO GARCIA: Conditions similar to yesterday, gusty winds again. The course firming up a little bit. Greens definitely are a little bit firmer, a little bit faster than yesterday. So tricky.

I don't know. I don't know. To be totally honest, I felt like I played fairly well. I shot 74. I feel like I shot 86. I don't know. It just felt like I just came out of ten rounds with Canelo. So it was hard.

Q. There were tough moments, especially 11, but you kept fighting, you recovered from that. What went through your mind to be able to come back like that?

SERGIO GARCIA: Well, I wanted to hang myself on 11 to start with. But then, I don't know. I was just playing, to be totally honest. Playing and trying to do the best I could. I obviously got lucky with a couple of good shots on the last two, simple as that.

Q. Momentum carry over after a birdie on 17 and 18 to tomorrow?

SERGIO GARCIA: Probably not.

Q. New day, new golf course?

SERGIO GARCIA: I don't know. This golf course, it's -- I don't know. It's difficult for me to get it going here other than one year.

Q. Sergio, are you as amazed by Tiger as every one of us are? Just his resiliency to bring him back playing at a high level in spite of everything?

SERGIO GARCIA: Yeah. We didn't even know if he was going to be able to walk or forget about playing golf. Obviously, yeah, it's very impressive to see, but we've seen it in the past from him. So it's a little bit surprising but to an extent, I guess.

Q. You played with Harold these two days. His first Masters, and he's turned in a couple of nice rounds. What have you seen? You're concentrating on yourself, I know, but what did you think of his game the first two days of his debut?

SERGIO GARCIA: Harold is a nice guy to play with. He played well. I think that he played nicely, hit a lot of good shots, putted very nicely both days, was able to make a lot of good par saves and birdies from like seven or eight feet that sometimes are not easy to make. Then got a couple of nice breaks when he needed them, and all those things help.

But, yeah, obviously he's been playing very solid all year. So it's no surprise.
