MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 7, 2022

Dustin Johnson

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Butler Cabin

Q. Thanks a lot. Here with Dustin Johnson. Let's start at the end. That was an all-world up and down for a 4 there at 18. Take us through what happened on that hole.

DUSTIN JOHNSON: I thought I hit a better tee shot than that, but it clipped one of the trees going down the left side and kicked it down the right side of the fairway, which had to hit a big slice around the trees. Got it up there just left of the green and made a really nice save there to end the day.

Especially I hit two really good shots on 17 just through the back of the green and made it an easy 5 there. That was the only bogey I had all day.

I felt like I played really solid. It was tough conditions out there. Especially this afternoon it was really windy. It was tough to get a beat on it and judge the distance, but it felt like I played really solid and made a lot of quality golf shots in the right spots. Really never got out of position. A couple of bad tee shots, but other than that, it was really solid all day.

Q. Of course, when you won here in 2020, it was a record-setting performance that November Masters, but that's your last official win on the PGA Tour, but you had a really solid showing there at the Match Play finishing fourth. I wonder from a mindset standpoint how confident were you with your game coming to Augusta this week?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: The game is starting to feel a lot better. Getting more and more comfortable over the golf ball and getting more comfortable hitting golf shots. It's starting to around and, obviously, it's trending in the right direction. Especially coming into this week, and obviously off to a solid start.

Q. Appreciate you stopping by. Good luck tomorrow.

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Thank you.
