Q. I followed you, but just your feeling about how it went?

ERIK VAN ROOYEN: I thought it played tough, but I thought I played well. I'm disappointed with the bogey on 18. It's still a little sour taste in my mouth, but I thought I played really well. It was really windy, obviously. Didn't give myself a ton of looks. Obviously, the conditions were tough, but all in all I'm pretty happy with how I played.

Q. It seemed like 18 was playing tough --

ERIK VAN ROOYEN: I don't know what they did. They might have hit it behind a tree or something, so the key with 18 you have to get it in play. From there it's pretty simple. Obviously, both my partners three-putted, but I think the key is you have to get it in the fairway somewhere. I obviously didn't.

Honestly, it just played tough, and that's how it is. There's obviously some guys playing well, but at the moment I'm sort of five back, and that's just fine.

Q. Did the conditions change during the day?

ERIK VAN ROOYEN: It certainly picked up a bit since I sort of arrived this morning, but for the rest it was fine. Obviously, I heard the subair systems blowing over there on a couple holes. It will probably firm up as the week goes on, but that's to be expected.

Q. Did it feel like a pretty big crowd to you? I've been here a lot. This feels like the biggest crowd I've seen.

ERIK VAN ROOYEN: This is only my second time, and my first time with people. I don't have anything to compare that too. Tiger brings in a lot of fans, obviously, and that's a great thing. I'm sure they'll keep coming as the week goes on.

Q. What's your mindset going into tomorrow?

ERIK VAN ROOYEN: Going to try to make 18 birdies.
