MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 4, 2022

Adam Scott

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Adam, just how is the course playing so far?

ADAM SCOTT: It's looking really good, very healthy, I would say. Right where you'd want it to be. Hopefully the weather cooperates the rest of the week.

Q. Some of the changes that you've seen out there, what are your thoughts on it? Especially 11 and 15.

ADAM SCOTT: I think 11 looks amazing. I think it's a great change. The look of the fairway looks great, but the big play difference, in my opinion, is missing the green right has gotten a lot worse now. So that's going to be an interesting one. That's a very, very demanding second shot, which I think is super around that stretch of the course.

15's just a little longer. We're used to that. Everywhere we go, it gets a little longer. But overall I think it's playing great.

The other noticeable changes, there's been a little second cut taken away here and there. So I think that will have an effect in many different ways this week.

Q. Adam, you had a chance to show Min Woo around the course today, first time. Were you like the presenter of Augusta?

ADAM SCOTT: No, far from it. I told him I showed up here, didn't know anything, and finished ninth. It's not that hard. Just go out and play golf.

I get it is an overwhelming experience being here. Today is the first kind of day of Masters week, and Min's played a couple times already. It's good. He's got the next three days to kind of get comfortable, and that's all I can really tell him to do.

I don't know his game, so that's about it. He's just got to figure a way to get comfortable for Thursday. I'd be surprised if he's not the most nervous he's ever been on the tee on Thursday.

Q. How about back with the crowd scene?

ADAM SCOTT: Well, I mean it's nice. It definitely feels like the first open Masters since Tiger won, which is quite a while ago. The last two years has definitely been a blur, I think, for everybody everywhere with the pandemic. So it's nice to have things feeling normal again.

Q. Are you surprised, speaking of Tiger, to see him here, that he might possibly play?

ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, yeah, because I haven't had any communication with him for a long time. Yeah, it's exciting that there's the possibility he's going to play this week. I really hope he does. I think no matter what it would just be epic.

Q. Do you think he could contend?

ADAM SCOTT: Yes, I never -- I've learned long ago never doubt the guy. If he can get around, which seems to be the question, you can't doubt his golf.

Q. If you had to put odds on yourself, what would that be?

ADAM SCOTT: I'm not a bookmaker, but I think I've been playing generally well, and I really like playing here. I'm comfortable here. I've addressed a few things in my golf game that are moving in the right direction. At top level anything, it's fine lines between contending, winning, and being one of the top players in the world. There's no reason why, if I find a nice rhythm out on the golf course this week, I can't be right there at the end on Sunday.
