AUGUSTA NATIONAL WOMEN'S AMATEUR

April 1, 2022

Aline Krauter

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. How did you find it out there today?

ALINE KRAUTER: It was a lot of fun. The breeze definitely picked up a little bit towards the end, but it was a lot of fun.

Q. Most challenging hole?

ALINE KRAUTER: Good question. I thought the tee shot on 1 was pretty challenging.

Q. Why?

ALINE KRAUTER: I mean, it's pretty tight up there. You get up there, and you're like, oh, wow, there's not a lot of room (laughter).

Q. Is there anything you picked up on that you think you're going to be able to take to your advantage tomorrow?

ALINE KRAUTER: I think if you know the way the green's sloping around the pin is going to be crucial. Obviously, we're going to get the pin positions tomorrow, so, yeah, we'll need to see.

Q. You know a lot of people who have played out here. I'm sure you got some advice on how to handle the course and your nerves. Anything different than what you were expecting?

ALINE KRAUTER: Not really, no. I also haven't heard a lot, but I think it's the same with every golf course, just stay in it until the end.

Q. What's it like being teammates with players like Rachel and Rose, and how has it made you a better player?

ALINE KRAUTER: I think we make each other better, everyone on the team. Regardless of who they are, I think we just all make each other better, every single one of us. From one to ten, we have ten people on the team, I think every one of us makes each other better.

Q. How do you play the par-5s here?

ALINE KRAUTER: I think it's going to depend on the wind a lot. I think a couple we might attack in two. I think 2 might be one of those holes. I think the par-5s, 15 it is with the water in front, I don't think I see that shot ever. Maybe depending on the wind direction. But I don't think I really see that shot.

Q. How far is 15? Like what's the length?

ALINE KRAUTER: I don't know. I think today it might have been like a 5-wood, like 190, 200 meters.

Q. Is that the most fun practice round you've ever played?

ALINE KRAUTER: I'd say so, yeah. Heck yeah.

Q. Probably the fastest too.

ALINE KRAUTER: It was so fast (laughter). Practice rounds in college are not fast.

Q. Aline, who's going to be on your bag tomorrow?

ALINE KRAUTER: My brother.

Q. Was that a tough decision?

ALINE KRAUTER: I think so because I got a lot of good tips out of my caddie today, but I think we got so many good tips that I think my brother's got it tomorrow.

Q. What's your guys' relationship? Is he a golfer? Do you guys have any special memories together from that?

ALINE KRAUTER: Yeah, he got me into golf, so that's where I started golf. Then growing up, I used to play with my brother a bunch, and then now I think every break he takes off of work is for me for golf. So we've had a lot of memories.

And last year I played four majors, and he caddied all four.

Q. Did he caddie for you at the British too?

ALINE KRAUTER: He did, yeah.

Q. What's his name?

ALINE KRAUTER: Tim Krauter.
