Carlsbad, California, USA

Aviara Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Nanna, just take me through what's been going through your mind as you walk off after the playoff.

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: It wasn't a very good playoff. Yeah, I played a good week and I'm happy with the game. I could have maybe have done a little better today, but it was what I could do.

Q. How proud of yourself are you to come off what you did in Honda Thailand and come back here and still carry that momentum?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I'm very proud. I mean, I played a really good week all week; had four rounds under par. It feels good doing that after a win, yeah.

Q. Yeah. A little bit on the playoff. We definitely saw the first hole, that chip there; fantastic effort. What were you thinking?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Well, I thought I had to make it actually, because hers was -- it was a good chance for her; obviously it wasn't a gimme.

So, yeah, I had no pressure. I just tried to make the chip.

Q. Once you're in the cart path there on the second hole of the playoff, how hard is that shot that you had?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I mean, it's a hard shot. It's a hybrid from the rough; not a very good lie; above the feet.

I just tried not to pull it too much from that lie, and then obviously I did not pull it, I pushed it quite a lot.

Yeah, it was a tough shot.

Q. Yeah.

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Tight green.

Q. And then almost you're thinking that you're not even necessarily going to putt once you get up there, right? The putt itself, the last one that lipped out, what did you see in that? What were you thinking as far as making it?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I was just trying to make it. It was a good line, perfect line. I just had too much speed, but I wasn't going to leave it short.

Yeah.

Q. Yeah. How do you weigh getting a chance to get your second straight win versus how this ended? How will you perceive this week?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I don't get the question.

Q. Well, of how well you played versus the result I guess is...

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I mean, the result is what it is. I cannot do anything about it now. I just got to be happy with my second place.

If I dwell too much about what happened on 18 then golf is going to -- not play golf anymore. So, yeah, I'm not going to think about it. Still a good week and I still had that win in Thailand. I'm sure there will be plenty of other opportunities.

Q. We've got the major around the corner, and you're in excellent form. How are you feeling as you get ready to go to Palm Springs?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Feeling good. Also a little tired; being in contention takes on you.

Q. Yeah.

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: But, I mean, I still got to be proud of myself this week, even though I did not get the win. Yeah, I'm excited for next week.

I'll take a day off tomorrow and then hopefully I'll play good next week.
