Quick Quotes

Q. Great wins at 17 and 18 to pull this match out.

BUBBA WATSON: Yeah, for sure. It was a struggle all day. Yesterday I didn't make any putts. Today I didn't really make any putts. I got lucky on 10 when he missed a short putt. Then it was really -- he made a mistake on 10, made a mistake on -- what is that, 14? So I was just making pars, and then he made a great eagle on 16, so I was just trying to hang on.

Then finally I made a putt that went my way. Normally I get beat on 17 with a long putt like that, so it was nice to actually do it. And here I got lucky. He just made a bad swing that maybe guessed the wind wrong or whatever, pushed it off the green. It was one of those days I just kept fighting, and luckily it went my way the last couple holes.

Q. You've got a chance to win this group tomorrow.

BUBBA WATSON: Yeah, exactly. I'm looking forward to it. I think it's Brian Harmon tomorrow, and last year he beat me with eight birdies in a row, so hopefully I can switch it on him and do it myself. It'll be fun no matter what. To get a win is nice. You don't want to go home empty handed, so it was nice to get a victory.

Q. You were 1-down on 17, you drain a 35-footer. What did you see on that read?

BUBBA WATSON: Not much. There was a lot of leaves. I've seen that putt over the years, watched it on TV and I've hit it before. It was just one of those things, you try to hit to your target and hopefully it bounces off the leaves and goes in. That's what it did. It didn't hit a leaf, but it lipped in on the last little bit there, so that was a big momentum going forward. Then the good tree bounce off the tee shot helped out a little bit, and then I just played smart, trying to put a little pressure on him knowing that he had to par, and it just went my way today.
