Q. What were you thinking when you put the ball in that penalty area there at 17, 2-up?

WEBB SIMPSON: Well, I've had a problem all day of hitting it left which we're going to go work on on the range, but I normally love that look of the shot, left pin, right-to-left wind, and 2-up with two to go, you just can't do that. Hopefully that's the last time I do it, but it is a funny game, knowing I had basically the whole state of Texas to the right of that pin.

But I'm happy to get a win.

Q. How is the game right now? How are you feeling?

WEBB SIMPSON: Yeah, feeling good, healthy. My neck really hasn't been giving me any trouble since Phoenix week, so I've just been rehabbing it back home. The game is good. I'm on the right track. Today I was a little all over the place, but mentally I kind of hung in there and it was good enough to get it done.

Q. You like match play?

WEBB SIMPSON: Yeah, I do like match play. I haven't had the greatest of success here, but we took a little different approach this year which was play as smart as possible, and I didn't look like I did than on 17, but all in all a good start to this event.
