WGC DELL TECHNOLOGIES MATCH PLAY

March 23, 2022

Bryson DeChambeau

Austin, Texas, USA

Austin Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. What do you say about this match? Hard fought until the bitter end.

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Definitely. Pretty good game all day. We didn't play our best, obviously, but just a bit rusty. Obviously hit some wayward shots, just concerned -- just more or less cautious, very cautious. There were some pretty good wayward shots because of that, and that probably cost me quite a bit, and then I three-putted a few times. I haven't practiced the way I should have on the putting green for speed, and I'll work on that after.

Q. How was the game mentally? Were you nervous, butterflies there? You haven't played in a while.

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Yeah, I mean, always there. The butterflies are always there. To be honest I'm very happy and content with the place that I'm at right now, and I feel like I'm progressing in the right direction. There's a lot of things that people don't know behind the scenes that I'm very, very pleased about in a very good way. My body is healing. That's a very positive thing that I'm happy with. Today it didn't fail. I thought there might be a moment where it got really tired and fatigued, but to be honest it's still really solid, so I'm proud of my hand, proud of my body, proud of my attitude.

Q. Normally you go to the range and keep practicing. Is that the routine today?

BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: I've got to weigh that cost for sure. I'm definitely going to be thinking about whether or not to do it. I do want to clean up a couple of the shots I hit out there, just to feel a little bit more comfortable over shots. I might hit a few, couple balls, but definitely it'll be a lot shorter.
