Austin, Texas, USA

Austin Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Your first time here at the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play. What does it feel like to be among the top 64 players in the world?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, it's amazing. It's really cool to be on the range and be on the course with all the top players in the world. I'm excited to play this week.

Q. No easy groupings here at all, but you're grouped with the defending champion, Billy Horschel, Thomas Pieters and Tom Hoge. Tell us about your group and the matches ahead the next few days.

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, I knew coming into this week it was going to be tough no matter who you got drawn with, but yeah, hopefully play good golf when you need to, and yeah, hopefully a good result.

Q. How is your game feeling coming into the week?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, it's feeling good. I had my coach out for the last couple weeks, so it's a lot better. The first few weeks out on the PGA TOUR it was a bit rough. The courses were a bit different. But this course looks really nice and suits my game, so I'm excited.

Q. Were you able to nail down some of the things that you need to do to tighten up your game ahead of the next few big weeks ahead?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, sure. Yeah, my coach is out and we worked on a few things, kind of got into my bad tendencies when I don't keep on top of it. Yeah, it's been a really good improvement over the last few weeks with my coach.

Q. Match play this week versus the traditional stroke play, how much different is the mindset when you go into a head-to-head?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, it's completely different. You have a practice round and you're hitting driver off some tees, but then if a player does really good or does really bad, it changes up the situation and you hit a different tee shot or just a different mindset, I guess, to the hole. It's completely different. You are playing another player, not the course.

No, I'm excited. I used to play match play a lot as a junior and an amateur, so I'm excited to get back to the Match Play.

Q. What's the golf course like? It seems like a course suited for match play. A lot of exciting holes.

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, exactly. There's some drivable holes. There's some you can get to in two on par-5s. It's challenging, as well. It's not just an easy golf course, it's challenging, so pars can win, too.

Q. With the Presidents Cup in September, is that something in the back of your mind as you go into this match play event?

MIN WOO LEE: Yeah, for sure. It's one of my goals I put down this year. Obviously a lot of good golf to be played to get into that tournament and that team. Yeah, I'm putting my head down and hopefully will play well.

Q. What would constitute a good week for you here?

MIN WOO LEE: I mean, no expectations. I'm just trying to -- I've still got a few tournaments, sponsor's invites to get through the year, so I'm not putting too much pressure on myself, I'm just playing, and hopefully good results. Hopefully I can just stick to my process and game plan, and if I do play well or don't play well, so be it.
