ARAMCO SAUDI LADIES INTERNATIONAL PRESENTED BY PUBLIC INVESTMENT FUND

March 17, 2022

Kylie Henry

King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia

Royal Greens Golf & Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Talk us through your round. First round back after a while.

KYLIE HENRY: Yeah, started off a wee bit scrappy. It was really windy as well, so I was 3-over through -- I can look it up. 3-over through five. I just kind of gradually got it together from there. Then I was making some good solid pars and just kind of got better and better as the round was going on.

Yeah, I'm definitely happy with that. I'm so delighted to be back playing and back at tournament and really great form. I'm happy with 2-over, that's for sure.

Q. Did you feel like the shot was a bit of rustiness?

KYLIE HENRY: A wee bit probably, and even just getting into my actual routine again, like your tournament presentation routine. It's hard to practice that properly without actually being in a tournament.

Yeah, it was just good to get focused in on targets again, and that helped. I actually putted really solid today, so I'm happy with that.

Q. How did it feel?

KYLIE HENRY: Really pretty good. Can't complain. My speed's not what it normally is, so I'm just allowing for that yardage-wise. Length has never been an issue, so I'm totally happy to take my time getting back to full speed again.

Q. What are your notes in terms of yardage? Is it ten yards off what you're looking at? Is it quite substantial?

KYLIE HENRY: Probably -- well, the striking isn't as good as normal either, so I'm having to almost allow for a slightly cruder strike. But the good strikes are probably, when it gets to like a 7-iron, I'm probably like seven, eight yards shorter than I normally am.

Right now my good strikes are seven, eight yards shorter, and I'm also having to allow for a wee bit of mis-hit as well just because I've obviously not been able to get the amount of practice in that I would normally do over the winter.

Q. You said it was quite windy this morning. The wind tends to pick up in the afternoon, that's for sure.

KYLIE HENRY: I hear in the forecast it's actually coming down.

Q. I've read the opposite. I read it was supposed to be very windy this afternoon and then maybe goes down over the next couple of days. If you are here tomorrow and that wind picks up, will you have a different game plan? Or is it, as you say, just getting used to the swing and not push yourself beyond that?

KYLIE HENRY: Yes, just like I said, playing within myself for sure. Usually I am quite an aggressive player. I just have to kind of rein that in a little bit right now. In the wind -- it's always windy here. It's been extreme the last few days, so I feel like I've had a taste of the strong wind. You're just expecting it.

Like you say, I'm playing in the afternoon tomorrow, so I'm really expecting it to be breezy. Just find good targets to the shots.
