THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP

March 14, 2022

Kevin Streelman

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, USA

TPC Sawgrass

Quick Quotes

Q. Just kind of describe the resumption this morning for you.

KEVIN STREELMAN: Yeah, I was fortunate to have a nice look on 3. Had about seven, eight feet for birdie and was able to make that. Then it's all about hitting fairways and greens. I was able to continue to do that and give myself some good looks and an awesome shot on 8 for another birdie.

Yeah, getting to 6-under and giving myself a chance was a goal.

Q. Do you feel like there's a low number on this golf course this afternoon, maybe a little lower wind and warmer temperatures?

KEVIN STREELMAN: Yeah, as professional golfers, we get accustomed to the course and how it's playing that week. Clearly it's soft right now, which allows the fairways to get a little wider. Also allows the greens obviously to get a little softer.

We're able to maybe fire at a few more pins than we would otherwise, and we're all ready to get out of here, too, so the better you play, the quicker you play.

Q. With no rain and some wind, has it been able to dry out at all?

KEVIN STREELMAN: It surprisingly has, yeah. The fairways are beautiful. I was expecting mud. I hardly had any mud balls. The course is clearly in great shape. It's a shame the amount of rain we got, but I'm sure this afternoon we'll be ready for a great finish.

Q. How do you go about attacking the course this afternoon?

KEVIN STREELMAN: You've got to hit fairways first and then you can. But the tee shots are critical. They're going to be very important this afternoon. I know we've got the east wind, make 17 off the right and 18 off the right, which as a right-hander I kind of prefer. But it makes the other par-5s play a little bit -- 2 will be kind of in off the left.

Yeah, it's just going to come down to those tee balls. Whoever hits a lot of fairways is going to have a chance.

Q. Have they still not touched the rough?

KEVIN STREELMAN: I don't think so. Yeah, it's not a place you want to be.
