Abraham Ancer

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, USA

TPC Sawgrass

Quick Quotes

Q. Feeling pretty fortunate to be on the side of the draw that you are?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Absolutely, yeah. I watched a little bit of the telecast yesterday, and it was carnage. I feel I haven't been in a good wave for a long, long time, so take advantage of that. Granted, it wasn't easy today. It was really, really cold, especially the first 12 holes, but grinded it out. Can't do anything about it. Might as well take advantage.

Q. Did you watch yesterday?

ABRAHAM ANCER: I watched a little bit. I didn't watch it all, but I watched definitely, and yeah, we definitely got a better draw.

Q. What were you thinking watching that?

ABRAHAM ANCER: I'm glad I'm not there. It was really tough. This golf course, there's really no room for error. It's super penal when the wind is blowing like that. There's really nothing you can do about it. You can hit a good shot and get a little bit unlucky with a gust. That's part of golf, you know.

Q. Kis said yesterday he felt the integrity of the tournament and the course was being questioned because of the conditions. Then a couple of the guys we just talked to said they don't believe in the karma gods. What's your assessment of being in this second wave and having to play the second round today as opposed to yesterday?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Yeah, you can probably see it both ways, but for example, the Open is very much like that. There's a lot of times when you're in a bad wave, but it's just part of it. It's hardly ever the reason why you get guys that miss the cut here or end up winning. It just happened to be that kind of week.

I feel like throughout your career it might just even out. I feel like I've been in a lot of bad waves, and there's nothing really you can do about it. Got to put your blinders on and just focus on your next shot. It doesn't matter what wave you're on. Sometimes I play better in my bad waves and in perfectly good weather. It just depends how you view things. Obviously, it was really tough yesterday.
