THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP

March 10, 2022

Tom Hoge

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, USA

TPC Sawgrass

Quick Quotes

TOM HOGE: For me I think this is my fourth PLAYERS Championship, and I just got a little bit more comfortable being here and in some of the majors as I've played a few more of them. Certainly nice to come back and have a little familiarity with the tournament and the golf course and the area. I feel like it's a golf course that suits me really well, so I'm always excited to show up here.

Q. How do you think you've carried the momentum?

TOM HOGE: Yeah, I've been kind of hit and miss. Missed a couple of cuts that I would have liked to have played better, but like I said, I look forward to Bay Hill and THE PLAYERS Championship. These are two events that I love coming to, and I feel like I've played well in the past, so just trying to build off of that. And I feel like I'm swinging really well, too, right now, so I'm excited to get back out there again.

Q. Saw you last night at the Hall of Fame ceremony. Why was that important for you to attend?

TOM HOGE: You know, I don't know if I would say it was important to attend, but I felt fortunate to be there. Tiger certainly had a big impact on me, why I'm out here, the money that we're playing for this week. I think more than anything, you hear the stories of all the other great golfers there, as well, just the perspective, appreciation that you have for the game of golf, and you know, it's an inspiration to be there and see what they've accomplished. Everything is possible in this game.

Q. Going back to the Wyndham in 2015, did you have any other interactions with Tiger --

TOM HOGE: I played with Tiger a couple times, as well, right before COVID hit at Torrey Pines and then right after at the final round of the PGA Championship. It's been cool to get to play with him a few times, but more than anything I felt like I was there as a fan. To get the opportunity to go see that and be there was certainly a cool night, and I'm very happy that I went.

Q. Did you give him hell for what he said back a couple years ago?

TOM HOGE: He can say whatever he wants, too, about me. That's just fine. I can't blame him for that. It was funny because I think Feherty had a quote, when he first heard "Tiger Woods," what the heck is it there, is it a golf course? I guess it all came full circle there last night.

Q. How do you approach tomorrow knowing -- you could get an 18-hole round, you could potentially not play at all, how do you view tomorrow?

TOM HOGE: I think just the approach for the whole week, the way the weather forecast was coming in here that you never really knew when you were going to play. With that said, you don't know if we're going to play a 72-hole tournament, 54-hole tournament, whatever it may be, so you just go out and try and play well with the opportunities that we're given, and if you get called in, so be it.

It was nice today. I watched TCU, my school play our game at 12:00. It was a perfect time for a rain delay, so it was fun.

Q. Did they win or lose?

TOM HOGE: They came back and won, beat Texas today, so it was a great day to be a Horned Frog.
