Patty Tavatanakit

Atthaya Thitikul

Pattaya, Thailand

Siam Country Club Pattaya, Old Course

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Here with Patty Tavatanakit and Atthaya Thitikul. Patty, start with you. Nine holes done. You got your practice done. How does the golf course look and how are you feeling heading into the week?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: Feel pretty good. Feel like I always felt a little bit more comfortable since the start of the season. The course is playing a lot different from last year, softer.

If anything, I think they been getting a lot rain, so sometimes with that it's a little bit hard to control the conditions to make it the same as last year.

Overall I feel good.

Q. Last year you did have great success here; didn't turn out the way you wanted, but how do you look back to last year and what you learned from playing here, and also seeing Ariya win?

PATTY TAVATANAKIT: I mean, I grew up watching this event, always coming and watching. I went from being a spectator to an amateur playing and then now a pro playing.

I feel like everyone has been waiting for some Thai players to win, and I was in contention but didn't really get the job done.

But for Ariya to win, I feel like it's just amazing feeling for all Thai people because they been waiting for so long.

Q. Atthaya, similar to you, you ended up finishing second and had to wait out that rain delay, the lightning delay last year. What was that experience like playing last year and seeing Patty's success and Ariya's success and what that means for Thai golf?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: I will say it's mean a lot for us. You know, like all the Thai fans, like Patty said, been waiting for some Thai player to win this tournament.

Yeah, Ariya did it, and then, I mean, everyone was happy about it. And then, yeah, be alongside with Ariya, Patty mand all Thai players been really great to learning some experience from them, too.

Q. Last question from me. Atthaya, you played really well last week; tied for fourth. What do you take from last week's success that now you bring to this week as you tee it up here at Siam?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Well, I will say last week is really amazing week for me as well, because like I say, I change my new equipment and then not really comfortable with my irons that much, but I had some pretty good like commitment there last week.

And so we'll get it like the same to this week.

Q. What clubs did you change?

ATTHAYA THITIKUL: Miura to Callaway.
