Quick Quotes

Q. Nice eagle there at the last. Just if you could just sort of recap your round and how you felt about it out there today.

KURT KITAYAMA: Felt like overall it was pretty solid. Anything under par on this course is good. I gave myself a lot of looks and didn't get as many to fall today, but overall I'm pretty pleased.

Q. You had the bogeys there at 12 and 13. What did you do to sort of steady the ship coming down the stretch?

KURT KITAYAMA: Just try and stay patient, not worry about them too much. I know that like bogeys come in bunches out here, but as long as I got rid of like a big number I would be all right and so just tried to stay patient.

Q. Is it easy to stay patient on a golf course like this?

KURT KITAYAMA: It's not, but with there not being an easy birdie hole it's pretty hard to like try and press, so kind of forces you to be patient any ways.

Q. When you sit there and look at the leaderboard and see yourself now T-2 going into the weekend, what kind of things are you thinking about now as you turn the page towards Saturday?

KURT KITAYAMA: Not too much. Just kind of want to stick to the game plan and try and hit as many greens as possible, really. With this course being this hard as it is, don't necessarily need to go super low, so I think just sticking to being patient is going to be key.

Q. Seems like your iron play has been pretty good, your tee to green and your approach stats are really good. What's been clicking in that game for you?

KURT KITAYAMA: I think I've been hitting them well the past month or so and like out here I'm just taking a little more conservative lines, playing away from the pins, I think that's kind of what's helping the most.

Q. How much fun is it for you to put up a couple of numbers on these, on this course when it's been beating everybody else up?

KURT KITAYAMA: Yeah, it's a lot of fun. Still beats me up a little bit, but it's really fun to just be able to shoot under par out here.
