Quick Quotes

Q. 3-under today, if we can get some comments on your round.

BROOKS KOEPKA: Yeah, putted it beautifully. The only difference was between today and yesterday was just a few putts were hit a little bit harder, gave them a chance. They were great lines yesterday and just a touch of pace was off, but today it was beautiful.

Struck the ball really nicely, but felt like the wind kind of was swirling around a little bit and a couple holes just teeing off first you don't get the advantage of seeing other guys, but struck it solid, very pleased with how everything is going.

Q. Seemed like it got a little firm and crusty this afternoon. What was the challenge of the golf course coming down the stretch?

BROOKS KOEPKA: I thought it got pretty firm and crusty on Friday. Yeah, definitely 16 there wasn't much grass around that hole to stop the ball. But yeah, it was, a few of them they got pretty quick. These greens are, they feel quicker than I've ever seen 'em. But I mean they're probably one of the best surfaces we could putt on.

Q. Because of COVID and last year obviously with limited fans it's been a little while since were you in the final group and tons of people out there. How good did it feel to be in the middle of it all again?

BROOKS KOEPKA: Yeah, it's been awhile for a final group, but I don't think there's any tournament that there's this many people. So I'm pretty sure every year that they're allowed full fans they just keep breaking a record, breaking a record of most people. So we'll see, we'll see how many people show up tomorrow. But today was wild.

Q. You're not technically in the lead, but you're right up there. Do you feel like with your record here and your record overall you're sort of psychologically somewhat in the driver's seat or at least right where you want to be?

BROOKS KOEPKA: I'm not right where I want to be, I would like to have the lead. But look, I'm playing solid, so just go out and go play a good round tomorrow and see what happens. Just need to keep putting it the way I did. I feel confident, I like where my game's at and we'll see. Just be within a couple on the back nine.

Q. What did you work on last evening with your putting and how did that help today?

BROOKS KOEPKA: It wasn't anything that really helped. We got out there and the green speeds on the practice green were a little slower than the course. But just kind of making sure everything was starting on line, and it's been all week, it's been for awhile. So it had more to do today, just getting out there and feeling the green speeds, they felt, felt a little more normal today or I felt like I adjusted to it today, I think that was the only difference.
