WM PHOENIX OPEN

February 11, 2022

Keegan Bradley

Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

TPC Scottsdale

Quick Quotes

Q. A tale of two nines there. If we can get some comments on your round.

KEEGAN BRADLEY: Yeah, that was a weird, I was parring every hole, I was hitting it to like 30 feet and 2-putting.

And then I made a nice putt on 11 and you if you hit good shots on the back you're going to have a lot of good looks. And I hit the par-5s in two and 2-putted those and made a nice par on the last.

Q. Three back right now, but just comment on being in the mix heading into the weekend here at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

KEEGAN BRADLEY: There's not a better place to be in the mix than here. This is fun. Saturday's going to be a fun day out here tomorrow, weather's going to be good so excited about that.

Q. What's your take on the noise and the comments on everything? Brooks Koepka was saying that it keeps him focused kind of and he should get booed if he hits a bad shot.

KEEGAN BRADLEY: I love it. The thing about this week I always tell people is, you're ready for it, this is the week. It's not that big of a deal when they boo you, people think it is, but I think, like Brooks says, it's kind of nice to feel that -- like I always imagine that's what, that's my only time I get feel like what it might be in Fenway Park for me, you know, my life-long dream.

So I try to enjoy my time in there. But over the years it's not just that hole anymore, I mean the whole back side is pretty loud and pretty fun.

Q. Does it kind of, is it super, super different in that respect from every other tournament, like are there any other tournaments that even approach this in terms of being voluble?

KEEGAN BRADLEY: No, there's nothing like this. I think when we play at Bethpage, they don't boo you like this, but Bethpage is a similar type atmosphere, it's very loud and if they're cheering for you they're really behind you and if they're not, you can tell.

So the only place I could compare is Bethpage, but this is different, this is -- but like I said you're ready for it and for the most part it's not that bad. They're having fun and it's, I enjoy looking at the crowd and seeing how much fun they're having.

Q. Did you hit the green on 16?

KEEGAN BRADLEY: I didn't, missed it twice. Two days in a row I missed it, so I got my fair share of boos on that hole. I deserved it, they weren't very good shots.

Q. Could you talk about the course playing firm and fast and maybe contrast it to past years that it's maybe a little different, a little confusing?

KEEGAN BRADLEY: Yeah, I mean the place is fast, really fast, especially the fairways. I've never seen the fairways like that. But the greens are as quick as I've ever seen them and I thought that the pin positions were really tough today, the first two days, but especially today. I felt like on almost every hole it was in some of the toughest spots.

So I think maybe tomorrow they will give us a few flags to go for, but it's playing -- the scores aren't that low for the Thursday, Friday. So it's great when it plays like this.

Q. I'm writing to a general audience, not necessarily the hard-core golf audience that golf week might or maybe the sports department might. There are a couple of cactus right off of 1, right over to the left, have you ever noticed them?

KEEGAN BRADLEY: No.

Q. Okay. They're huge about 30 feet tall, they're probably a couple thousand pounds each and they're all pock marked, full of holes. And I'm curious, just how bad of a shot, right, like is it possible for somebody at this level to even hook one that bad or slice one?

KEEGAN BRADLEY: Yeah, I think there is. I mean a lot of our friends in the pro-am probably put some holes in those cactuses. But, I mean, I've hit some horrible shots that could do that. But hopefully in the tournament you don't see those big cactus off the fairway and hit it down the middle.
