AUSTRALIAN OPEN

January 17, 2022

Alison Van Uytvanck

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Press Conference

A. VAN UYTVANCK/C. Bucsa

6-3, 6-4

THE MODERATOR: Straight sets win for you today; take me through the match.

ALISON VAN UYTVANCK: I think it's a good level. I started kind of well and playing aggressive, which was kind of important. Not easy playing in the wind a little bit. I thought she was playing better in the second set, and my serve wasn't working that well. But okay, I was really calm and staying positive and just trying to do my best.

Happy to win in two sets and finish it off at 5-4.

Q. How are you feeling physically in your first Slam of the year?

ALISON VAN UYTVANCK: Yeah, after Adelaide I had some injury on my knee, so I didn't practice a lot then. So I was like, let's see how it goes this first round. Yeah, it turned out to be okay. Still hope to be fully recovered for Wednesday and to be ready to go again.
