Jason Kubler

Flash Interview

FOURLIS-KUBLER/Hradecka-Escobar

2-6, 7-6, 10-6

Q. Congrats, guys, on making the final. Just want to give us each of your thoughts on tonight's match?

JASON KUBLER: Crazy. So crazy. Obviously our first match on Rod Laver, both of us. So it was pretty surreal being out there.

Took me a little while to get sort of used to the whole conditions and sort of playing in there, but the end of that match was just ridiculous, huh?

JAIMEE FOURLIS: Yeah, it was unreal. I think that's a match we are both going to remember forever. That was pretty cool.

Q. You guys played so well in both tiebreakers at the end of second and in the match tiebreak. What was the turning point?

JAIMEE FOURLIS: Yeah, I think they are a quality team. I think once we kind of found our level a little bit we just played within ourselves and we knew what we could do.

Yeah, I think we showed that today, yeah, in both breakers.

Q. Obviously being such a late, late match, how did you deal with the waiting around? Was there a little bit of caffeine involved, maybe a sneaky Pepsi there or something?

JASON KUBLER: Yeah, I was hitting the Pepsis. I didn't wake up, I swear, until after the first set. That was actually quite a tough match to follow, because Felix had that match point in the third?

JAIMEE FOURLIS: Yeah.

JASON KUBLER: So, you know, you have to get ready in the third set, and then the fourth set. So it was a pretty crazy match, that, and then to follow that was a little bit tough. I'm so happy that we won.

Q. Thoughts on the final? Friday, you know your opponents now, what are we thinking?

JAIMEE FOURLIS: Who?

JASON KUBLER: Mladenovic and Dodig.

JAIMEE FOURLIS: Oh, cool. Another two quality doubles players and singles players.

Doesn't get any easier. Gosh, we have nothing to lose. We have made it this far. We have all our friends and family in the crowd. Couldn't have been any better. Pretty good day.

Q. Playing on Rod Laver Arena must have been a huge experience and a good practice for the final?

JAIMEE FOURLIS: Yeah, it was pretty cool. Just sitting, change of ends, soaking it in, hoping like one day we we can both do this and play singles, as well, and doubles.

JASON KUBLER: I'm solely doubles.
