Diego Schwartzman

Federico Delbonis

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

Team Argentina

Press Conference

H. HURKACZ/D. Schwartzman

6-1, 6-4

Team Poland - 2

Team Argentina - 0

THE MODERATOR: Diego, just first question to you, just your reflection on today's matches.

DIEGO SCHWARTZMAN: It was a difficult match. I think at the beginning of the match I did too many mistakes. I started playing very badly, you know.

And he had the first point from Poland, Hurkacz, so he was trying to play with the confidence that, when you know you have one more point to go, if you lose the match. It happened to me two matches before. And I think my style was very bad, then I tried to improve a little bit in the second. I improved, I think, a few things in my game, but it was not enough.

Obviously it's not an excuse, but it's very different this stadium than the other one. One it's almost outdoor and this one is totally indoor. So I think for Poland, if you compare to us the game here, it's a little bit different for us. It's a little bit difficult. But at the end I think both matches they played much better than us.

Q. (Question about Novak Djokovic exemption.)

DIEGO SCHWARTZMAN: I didn't say nothing. I was saying that I don't want to say what I think. I think already the press and everyone is talking about it, so I don't think the players, we already spoke in the locker room. That is what I said. Maybe the press is going to be in the locker room for sure in the next few weeks, but I think we don't have to say nothing. I mean, we are here to play and Novak already talked to the tournament, the government, everyone is talking about, so players, we have to be on the side, I think.
