CFP SEMIFINAL AT THE CAPITAL ONE ORANGE BOWL: GEORGIA VS MICHIGAN

December 31, 2021

Jordan Davis

Miami Gardens, Florida, USA

Hard Rock Stadium

Georgia Bulldogs

Press Conference

JORDAN DAVIS: Good evening, everybody.

Q. Derion Kendrick comes over as a transfer from Clemson. Played in the College Football Playoff games before. For him to have the performance he had tonight, what do you think it meant to him and the defense?

JORDAN DAVIS: Shoot, you know, we came in here and wanted to play our game. D.K. coming from Clemson, being part of a winning program, won a national championship in the past, definitely gives him experience. He's been here before so he knows how this thing goes.

He just got to keep it balanced. He kept his balance, got two takeaways, had an amazing performance tonight. You couldn't really ask much more of him.

Q. Jordan, are you a fan of oranges? Second, y'all have heard all week about Michigan's offensive line, the Joe Moore Award. How much did y'all hear that and use it as motivation to prove you are one of the best defensive fronts in the country?

JORDAN DAVIS: Definitely a fan of oranges.

But, you know, we didn't really use it as motivation. We knew the Joe Moore Award and they totally deserved that, they have a great offensive line. But we just wanted to make sure that we was dominant and physical up front. We wanted to make sure we tested them, gave them a challenge.

That was our game plan going in, being a physical, more dominant front. It was a battle of the line of scrimmage. That was our goal.

Q. (Indiscernible) after the performance in the last game?

JORDAN DAVIS: Definitely this last month has been kind of crazy. You sit there and you think about the past a lot. But one of the things that I try to make sure that I did was keep moving forward, just travel on, take each day by its day.

At the end of the day we play a new game, a new team. The past didn't affect us. We just have to make sure that we keep moving forward in the future. The past is history, but the future's mystery.

Q. Jordan, was there anything different between this game from the Alabama game a couple weeks ago as far as the defensive front goes?

JORDAN DAVIS: We just knew we had work to do on the defensive line. That's one thing we've been preaching all week pretty much since the Alabama game, is to make sure we play our game, play how we're supposed to play.

Michigan is a great team. We just wanted to make sure we was more dominant and physical up front.
