LPGA Q-SERIES

December 10, 2021

Alana Uriell

Mobile, Alabama, USA

Magnolia Grove

Quick Quotes

Q. So Alana you shoot your lowest round of Q-School so far. How satisfying is that in the sixth round of this thing?

ALANA URIELL: Yeah, it's really nice for a couple of reasons. I mean, we had to wake up super early and the fog delay, and these greens are rolling so fast. You have to be on the right tier, and I felt like I was reading greens really well today and putting it in the right place.

That's really huge for this course.

Q. It's one of those things where I feel like even though it's the last week it's never easy. We have had fog delays, changing of weather. We finally saw some sun out here in Dothan. What's the mindset been the last couple of days as you inched closer to the finish line?

ALANA URIELL: I would say my mindset has been just stay loose and trust the process and just make sure that I realize that this game that we're playing is just a game.

I play it all the time, and just because there is a little extra pressure adding the card in there doesn't mean I should do anything different.

Q. I know it's not your first time at Q-Series. What's different maybe about this year, you as a person, you as a player? How have you attacked these two weeks as opposed to the past?

ALANA URIELL: Yeah, I would say my past experience now being on the LPGA has really happened me feel more comfortable competing at the highest level, and coming out here I feel like I have a lot of experience from that time.

There is nothing that I haven't seen before. This is definitely different than other years. Usually we have it as Pinehurst. Having to travel is kind of annoying.

I'm just happy that we're able to play at all, being December and that you will.

Q. What's it been like for you to know these two courses? Have you ever played RTJ before? Is this your first time playing in Alabama?

ALANA URIELL: This is my first time playing an RTJ course. I have played in Alabama before, but in college.

Q. I was going to say, yeah.

ALANA URIELL: For like SEC and conference and stuff like that. It's actually pretty nice down here. I'm not going to lie.

Q. Yeah. Well, when the sun is out it's quite nice. I think I have too many layers on. You're not the only Razorback in the field this week. A lot of younger people also from college are coming up through the ranks. What's it been like seeing other people go through what you went through a couple years ago, too, especially younger players like Brooke who is an amateur and a Razorback?

ALANA URIELL: It's really cool to see some old teammates and close friends being able to come up through the ranks and get this far. It's mostly a testament to the great program that women's golf is as Arkansas.

You know, I always wish that we could be together on tour. I think that's the most ideal situation, because it's so much fun to be able to hang out and have your friend there and play some good golf together.

Q. Yeah. I know there is 36 holes left. A round like this certainly must've boosted your confidence with just two more rounds to go?

ALANA URIELL: Yeah, it boosted my confidence, and, you know, these pins can be really crazy, so I'm just going to take it one shot at a time and see what happens.

Q. What's been a big factor for you to keep calm and not let yourself get ahead of yourself?

ALANA URIELL: I just treat every shot like it's the first shot. You know, try not to think about what does it mean, where am I in the field. I don't even try to look at the leaderboard. I'm just like, It'll what it is at the end, you know.
