LPGA Q-SERIES

December 5, 2021

Stephanie Kyriacou

Mobile, Alabama, USA

Magnolia Grove

Quick Quotes

Q. That was pretty amazing. My question about that's is what got into you today? Here did that come from?

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Oh, God. I have no idea. I think everything just clicked. Over the last couple days some tings were working and some things weren't, and then today they just both were in sync.

Q. That always helps.

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: It was very, very enjoyable.

Q. And it was bogey-free, clean card, bunch of birdies, one eagle. That's what it looked like on your scorecard, and I know some things have changed. Tell us about that eagle if you don't mind.

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Yeah, so I hit a driver, but like I pushed it a bit and I kind of got lucky and ran through the gravel. So probably ran like 20 meters further than I usually hit it. Then I hit like a 4-iron to about 15 foot and holed it.

Q. Nice.

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Which is good. I mean, it sounds easy but it was definitely not.

Q. Golf, it's weird game, right?

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Yeah, I know. I can back that.

Q. Were you feeling that comfortable on this course going in, or where did it come from?

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Yeah, I think everything is just working. I think even in the practice rounds I found this course a bit easier than the other one, and then I had a good round on the other one yesterday and I just kind of thought, Oh, yeah, let's go. Let's go low today. And then, yeah, it was just really good day.

Q. This course, this one in particular obviously, does is to fit your game a little bit better maybe?

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: I don't know. I mean, when people say that I never really know because I don't know what courses like suit my game. I mean, it suited my eye, every shot was pretty comfortable. There wasn't a shot that I was kind of scared to hit.

But, yeah, I guess so. I guess you could say it does then.

Q. Did you play in Spain last week?

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Yes.

Q. How long has it taken you to get over the jet lag?

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Yeah, it was okay. The practice rounds were a struggle and I remember saying to my caddie, Luke, on some of the holes, I'm like, I do not like remember this hole at all.

So that was different. But, I mean, yeah, now it's fine. Like it's, what, seven days in, so it's okay now. Definitely the practice rounds were a bit of a struggle.

Q. You've had a crazy two years. Winning as an am before the shutdown, getting another win, and all over the place. This time two years ago you were a good amateur and now you're one of the best pros in the world?

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Hurray.

Q. You're here. You're here and won twice on the LET. You're having a great week out here? What have the last two years been like for you?

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Yeah, I was going to say, you're pumping me up a bit.

Q. I am, exactly. Keep me around.

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: No, the last two years have been crazy. I mean, like you said, I was kind of lucky that I won this tournament as an amateur. I played well, but like kind of the timing was good because one of my best mates, Grace Kim, she's obviously a top amateur, but she didn't win, had to come to Q-School this year. She hardly played last year.

So I think I been very lucky in a sense, yeah. It's always grateful, but, yeah, it's still been a rollercoaster.

I got to see so many countries this year, so nothing bad to say.

Q. Have the last two years on the LET been a good learning experience for you?

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Yeah, definitely. I think it's a good pathway to the LPGA. I've made so many friends out there and you learn so much about your game playing in tournament mode and stuff.

But, yeah. It was good.

Q. How much confidence does today give you? Going to be a similar course.

STEPHANIE KYRIACOU: Oh, is it? Lots of confidence now. Again, it is a new week, new course. I don't think the weather is going to be that great next week I've seen, so honestly anything can happen. Just try and not get ahead of myself. It's a marathon these two weeks.
