LPGA Q-SERIES

December 3, 2021

Kaitlyn Papp

Mobile, Alabama, USA

Magnolia Grove

Quick Quotes

Q. Couple quick questions. Really good round today. Playing well.

KAITLYN PAPP: Thanks.

Q. Two good rounds to start this long tournament. Tell me how you're feeling right now.

KAITLYN PAPP: I feel pretty good. I'm just trying to play steady golf and play as consistent as I can and kind of give myself a chance for birdie on every hole.

So the goal is to play as stress-free as I can considering it's a marathon of a tournament.

Q. It is a marathon of a tournament. You seem to be doing well on the birdie chances. Only two bogeys. What's the game plan going into something like this? I mean, the goal is certainly all 144 holes. Knowing you've got to make it through this week for even more next week.

KAITLYN PAPP: Yeah, I think just taking care of what I know how to do with my game and just trying to play as simple as I can and just kind of think of this week as another tournament, and then we'll see where it goes from there.

Q. What has this first six months as a pro been like for you? I mean, you made your pro debut at the Women's Open this year, right?

KAITLYN PAPP: Yeah.

Q. Playing some Symetra, some Women's All Pro. It's been an interesting six months.

KAITLYN PAPP: Yeah, it's been an interesting start. Had some up and downs, but I've learned a lot. I've learned about really planning logistics and doing a lot of that stuff on my own and just seeing what professional golf is really about.

And so playing on the WAPT and Symetra has really helped me just kind of discover what being a professional golfer is.

Q. You got to have a lot of the friends out here too that maybe can give you some advice?

KAITLYN PAPP: Yeah, uh-huh. I definitely know quite a few people out here from college golf, junior golf, like AJGA type stuff. It's nice to see familiar faces for sure.

Q. Kind of made Q-Series on the number.

KAITLYN PAPP: Yeah.

Q. At Q-II. Maybe tighter than you wanted there.

KAITLYN PAPP: It was. I definitely really stressed. Before the final round Jake and I, my caddie, were just staring at each other like, Oh, my gosh. We know what we have to do tomorrow. Which was a little scary, but really thankful that that worked out this week and I'm here now.

Q. Now you're here, two rounds through. High enough on of leaderboard. Looks like you'll be over on Crossing to start out tomorrow. What's the game plan for Crossing?

KAITLYN PAPP: I think the Falls and Crossing play pretty similarly. Hit driver a bunch off the tee, so just trying to be as accurate as you can.

I think the approach shots are really important, like just to hit to the right parts of the green so you have some birdie looks and less chances to miss the green.
