MLB WORLD SERIES: ASTROS VS BRAVES

November 2, 2021

Luis Garcia

Houston, Texas, USA

Minute Maid Park

Houston Astros

Postgame 6 Press Conference

Atlanta - 7, Houston - 0

Q. How disappointing is it to end the season and the series like this?

LUIS GARCIA: Yeah, it sucks. It feels bad. That's just how baseball is. We have to come back with the same mentality next year to give everything and with good energy and try to do everything we can to win it next year.

Q. This was a big year for you, so many more innings than you've ever pitched. To get this far into the postseason, just how optimistic are you when you look back on your season and where you could go maybe next year?

LUIS GARCIA: I feel really proud of me, like what I did this year. I feel like next year will be better. I hope so. I'll be ready for next year. I'm happy for next year. I just want to have a good year next year.

Q. Luis, could you talk about the pitch sequence to Soler and exactly how that battle went and what you were trying to get by in that cutter?

LUIS GARCIA: You know it happens, right? It happens. That's it. I mean, it's okay. It just happens.

Q. What did you learn in this full season? What do you think you can continue growing with next year?

LUIS GARCIA: Just keep focused next year, keep working on some of the things I've adjusted for this last couple outings that I felt really good with. Just keep focused and be ready to work and focused on everything that's coming next year.

Q. Luis, if this was Carlos Correa's last time playing in an Astros uniform, can you just talk about how it was having him as a teammate?

LUIS GARCIA: He was a really good teammate. He was like captain for us and like he was really good with us. I feel really good for him, like if he comes back, we'll be really good. But if not, I wish the best for him.

Q. Luis, what has Strommy meant to you since you've been up to the Big Leagues?

LUIS GARCIA: He helped me a lot to adapt for the Big Leagues. I don't know how to say that, but that's okay. He tried to help us like a lot, tried to teach us success, and I was trying to take everything with me.
