NL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES: BRAVES VS DODGERS

October 21, 2021

Ian Anderson

Los Angeles, California, USA

Dodger Stadium

Atlanta Braves

Postgame 5 Press Conference

Los Angeles Dodgers - 11, Atlanta Braves - 2

Q. You haven't been around long enough to really understand Atlanta history but you've probably heard about it now. Is it just like last year where, do you feel that narrative where you can't get by the Division Series, you now have to be that Atlanta team that doesn't blow the lead?

IAN ANDERSON: Yeah, I think so. I think it's something we know about but it's something that we're definitely on a mission to kind of dispel. So, yeah, I mean, we're still in a good spot. The vibes are still good and we're going to hop on a flight, head home, and be ready to play Saturday.

Q. Did it feel like after a certain point tonight that kind of the runs that were scored after that didn't mean a whole lot. I mean you had your young guys in there. It seemed like they were getting their feel of it. But did it matter if you lost 6-2 or 11-2 or whatever?

IAN ANDERSON: Yeah, no, I think that might be a better question for Snit. But, yeah, no, it's just the way that they wanted to manage the bullpen and I thought Dylan Lee did a great job coming in and giving us two innings and, yeah, I think we'll be rested and ready to go.

Q. How big is it for you guys to have this game at home, Game 6?

IAN ANDERSON: Yeah, it's going to be exciting. We were able to win the first two at home and we played well there all year so we're looking forward to getting back to our houses and everything and getting rested up for the game.

Q. How unusual was that because you guys have seen Max be just the rock of the rotation. Did it seem like he just didn't quite have his usual stuff or what were you thinking watching that?

IAN ANDERSON: Yeah, I thought his stuff was good, a good first inning, but I'm sure he'll want some pitches back that I think he wishes he executed a little bit better, but we still have all the faith in him. We wouldn't be in this spot without him and then he's kind of been the rock all year for us, so we're all going to pick him up and get this thing done.
