Karen Fredgaard

Venice, Florida, USA

Plantation Golf and Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. I know it wasn't how you wanted to finish, but a solid 4-under 68 puts you one back of the lead and into the second day of the second stage of Q-school. How would you assess your round?

KAREN FREDGAARD: I mean, I just tried to follow my game plan out there and mental goals and just hit one shot at a time. It's tough playing under so much pressure, but just kind of focusing on those things.

Q. You've quickly staked your claim as one of the best players to ever come out of the Houston program. How has that experience kind of helped you prep for not only these events but also prepping for a life as a professional that I'm sure is coming.

KAREN FREDGAARD: Well, University of Houston is such a great place. I love it there. The facilities are awesome. My coach, Lydia Gumm, she's been there for me the last two and a half, three years, and she's such a good player herself and has taught me a lot good golf and just helping me to relax out there.

Q. How do you keep your expectations in check with so much on the line in an event like this?

KAREN FREDGAARD: I'm actually kind of bad at that. I have really high expectations for myself, but I really try to focus on just like following my mental goals and just trying not to focus on the result and just let the result -- if it's good, it's good, if it's bad, it's bad, but really just focus on one shot at a time.

Q. So it's a couple of different courses out here. You played Panther today, will play Bobcat tomorrow. How did you find Panther today and what are you looking forward to playing Bobcat tomorrow?

KAREN FREDGAARD: I like Panther a lot. There's a lot of great opportunities. I think the other one is a little bit harder because it's a little bit -- like you have a little longer distance in, so just definitely, again, the same things. Just if you hit the green, you're good, because the greens are so small out here. Yeah, and take the opportunities that you can get and make those putts if you can.
