Quick Quotes

Q. Talk about your round today.

MATT WOLFF: Yeah, it felt like I got off to a good start. I was giving myself looks all day. I think I hit 14 of 15 fairways and 17 of 18 greens, I think what my caddie told me.

So obviously I had looks all day and I was putting good and everything felt really good. At the start I felt like the putts didn't really drop and once I felt a lot better with my putter everything went in. So it was just a really solid round from start to finish and really happy with where my game's at.

Q. 17 of 18, as you mentioned. Good ball striking. Just talk about your confidence level coming in.

MATT WOLFF: Yeah, I'm probably the most confident I've been -- I can almost say since I've turned pro. The last six months I haven't really been playing well and I feel like my swing just got a little out of whack and it was something a little smaller than I thought it was.

But working on the right stuff now, sticking to the process, and just feel like I'm in a really good spot, not only physically, but mentally as well. Just having a lot better time out there, being happy and enjoying myself.

Q. You said it wasn't far off. Anything in particular with your swing?

MATT WOLFF: Yeah, I really like to get shallow and I was just getting a little steep. I was getting a little too bent over with my upper body and not enough knee bend.

So my setup, I'm just starting to have a little more knee bend and not get quite as bent over, allowing me to get a little more shallow through the ball, and when I get shallow my face stays square a lot longer through impact and that was the big getting things for me is I just didn't feel like I had control of my face and now back to where I was before I turned pro or in college, when I was playing really well, I was really shallow and had a lot of face control.

Q. So, like I said, last six months have been hard, but I feel like I'm going to be a better player from it in the future and never heard of a perfect career so hopefully I got my bad stuff out of the way.
