THE MODERATOR: Could you tell us your thoughts about the match and your level of play after a successful first week at the Open.

GAEL MONFILS: Yeah, it was tough match. Against Stevie is always interesting match. Today was little bit different condition with some wind, so had to adjust myself a little bit.

I felt Stevie was slicing great the ball with the backhand. I get caught a little bit too much in the second set. Then he just like battle it out. For sure he's been at home, play with hurt.

I had to put up I think a great skill to beat him, serving good, great defense, returning not bad actually, and a bit of luck to win this one.
