Q. Leona, congratulations on a commanding victory there, 5 & 4. You seemed to be on cruise control pretty much all day. Give us a sense of the day.

LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, Jen is a world class player. We've done battle many times in college. This wasn't the first, and it will definitely not be the last. I knew I was going to have to play some really good golf to beat her today. Got off to a great start; that eagle on 2 really sort of set me up and holed some really nice putts, and just really kept my foot down all day.

Q. It's the first point of the blue board for this afternoon's session. Were you aware of what was going on and how the tides were changing as you were out there?

LEONA MAGUIRE: No, I haven't really looked at too many boards. The goal was to get my point. That's all I can do. I've given it my absolute all this week. I couldn't have given it anything more. I mean, I couldn't have asked for a better week, and hopefully the girls can finish it off. I'll go cheer them on.

Q. Who are you going to go and cheer on?

LEONA MAGUIRE: Whoever needs my help the most, I guess. We need as many cheers for Europe as possible.

Q. The first Irish woman to play in a Solheim Cup, and I know you must have had a big dream last night about coming out here and having a great day and getting the point. How did you bring that dream into reality?

LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, I just tried to get off to a really good start, and then that eagle on 2, that's a pretty good start, and I hit it really solid. Made birdie on 6, which was a hole I hadn't played well on all week. Yeah, just wanted to put pressure on Jen from the get-go. She's a phenomenal player; we've played many times before, and I knew I'd have to have my "A" game today, and luckily there was still some energy left in my legs and I was able to get it done.

Q. A lot of people wonder how rookies will perform in their first Solheim Cup. You obviously just felt right at home in this format. 4½ points, undefeated, how can you explain this excellent golf?

LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, I mean, I've been having a great year since June really, since MEDIHEAL. Just tried to carry that through. Dermot has been a tremendous help to me, been my caddie since MEDIHEAL, and he was a huge part of this week, keeping me calm, keeping me focused, hitting the right shots at the right moments, and I had two phenomenal partners in Mel and Georgia, as well, that just let me do my thing, and yeah, just so proud of getting (indiscernible).
