Quick Quotes

Q. A commanding victory this afternoon. What are some of the emotions that you're feeling after that?

ANNA NORDQVIST: I'm excited. It's been a great day for the both of us, and I really enjoyed playing with Matilda. She played great all day, and I think we're just happy to see some blue on the board.

They're tough competitors, but I feel like we played great in the best ball and complemented each other pretty well.

Q. Matilda, day one under your belt. How are you feeling now given how well today has gone for you?

MATILDA CASTREN: Pretty good. Getting two points is more than I could ask for, and playing with Anna was great. We had so much fun today. We both played great. Like she said, we kind of complemented each other's games, so the foursome worked really well, and better ball.

She was playing great all day. She made a couple of birdies in the end, and yeah, it was good.

Q. What will either of you take from today into tomorrow now that you've got day one under your belt?

ANNA NORDQVIST: I think just realizing how tough the golf course is playing. With these firm greens, I feel like they firmed up a little bit in the afternoon, and I was over the green a couple times, and those were not good spots to be.

Just some of the pins out here, I don't know how we were supposed to get anywhere near the pin, especially on the par-3, 12. There's quite a few tucked, but I think we managed to do it pretty well. Like you've got to lag putt pretty good, and it's not that that's easy, either, but I felt like in the morning a lot of holes were won on par because it's tough when you're playing one ball.

I think overall we played pretty solid today, and when we were off we weren't too far off.

Q. Anna, you put the rookie on your shoulders today; what made you two such an unbeatable pairing all day long?

ANNA NORDQVIST: I think I like Matilda's personality. She's not afraid of anything and she's pretty fearless. I enjoyed playing with her on Tour the few times I got the opportunity. She was definitely one of the girls I would love to play with this week, so I'm glad Beanie put us together.

Q. Matilda, Anna was a little bit of the star of the show the first part of the afternoon and you kicked it in later. What can you say about playing alongside this veteran and such an accomplished player and how it makes you feel confident?

MATILDA CASTREN: Well, Anna was playing great all day, so I could really trust her. Just kind of tried to do my best and tried to make some putts, and I managed to do that in the end. It was great fun today, and I think we complemented each other's games a lot.

Yeah, we worked really well together.

Q. Are you guys ready if indeed they put you back out in the morning? It's hard to imagine they wouldn't.

ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, absolutely. This is a fantastic golf course, playing really tough. The wind this afternoon wasn't easy. The greens are so firm, so some of the pins -- it's playing really tough. I don't know how we're supposed to get anywhere near pins.

But I feel like we managed it really well. We didn't make any bogeys all day, which is good. So we played solid.
