Quick Quotes

Q. Mark took a swing video and sent it to Butch, and then Pat and Angelo were looking over it with him in 14 fairway. What do you see going on in the swing that has other people kind of analyzing it?

DANIELLE KANG: I think maybe people were just kind of thrown off just because I hit it everywhere today. I think I was just really off sync, but I tried to overcorrect all day, which was a problem.

Golf swings like that -- in the last three holes I hit the ball really well because I liked the strike on the hits that I hit. On 17 it was a good drive. The fairway just slopes left to right.

I hit a really good shot on the 18th hole, as well. Even on 16, I hit a good approach shot. The pin is tucked right. I can't attack that pin.

I think irons were fine, I just mis-hit one iron in the beginning. I think maybe it's not really that technical for me. I just spoke to Butch, as well. I think people can just overanalyze. But sometimes that...

Q. It's almost like everybody just wants it to be perfect.

DANIELLE KANG: So do I, right?

But yeah, to be honest, I was kind of sliding all over the place, and I really didn't like the way I felt in my shoes. I think the best way I can feel is I'm very sensitive with the ground feeling, and I just felt really off sync. That's all. Sometimes that happens.

Q. I heard a couple rumblings that you had been tired during the practice rounds. Is it a blessing in disguise to sit in the afternoon to work on one or two things on the swing and get some rest for a big final two days?

DANIELLE KANG: I think people are maybe freaking out too much about my one match. You know, I've tried my best. I had my "A" game -- I honestly haven't missed a fairway in so long; I missed fairways all day today. That's just golf.

I guess people taking my swings and sending it to Butch, I don't know what to tell you, but it happens. I'm not really worried about it. I really enjoyed playing with Austin and vice versa. She made some really good putts for me.

At the same time she's just like, hey -- even on the last hole, she acknowledged that it was a really, really great shot into the green because I didn't have much shot from there. But from the outside you can just see me hitting it to 40 feet, but you've got to understand the golf course is tough. You can't just expect us to hit it really close if we're in certain areas.

But yeah, it is what it is, and I think it's fine.
