Viktor Hovland

Atlanta, Georgia, USA

East Lake Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. How was it today?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: There were some good pins out there and greens were firm and fast. Just didn't manage to hit enough fairways and especially from the start, it's really hard to hit the greens and make up-and-down, so I had a rough start. But I felt like I handled it really well and made three birdies after that, and just kept trying to stay patient and unfortunately I had a rough finish. But it could have been, you know, a good round.

Q. Is it tiring at this time of year? Do you feel like you're trying so hard to get to the finish line? Are you low on energy?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: It's been a lot of golf the last couple weeks for sure, not just a couple weeks but the few last months. I've certainly played a lot this year. But I'm still young and I'll trying to do my best to rest in between the rounds.

Q. Going into tomorrow, there's like so much fluctuation possible and because it's the TOUR Championship, that means a ton of difference with the money everything and else. What's your mindset? How do you buck up to try to have a good one and make sure you stay top, whatever?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, I can't control what the other guys around me are doing. The top of the leaderboard are playing really well and they are probably out of reach. But I've just got to try to play my best and whatever I end up, I end up, and move along from there.

Q. Are you excited for The Ryder Cup? Is it in your mind a lot?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, pretty pumped. It's coming up. But I'm going to London next week and still got one more tournament, and then a week off and just trying to take it day-by-day. But I'm certainly thinking about that first tee shot.

Q. I was going to ask you about the BMW. You decided to play that and then come back. Was there any thought of not playing because of the travel and Ryder Cup?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, it's a lot of play, but at least I have that one week off and I need to play a certain amount of tournaments on The European Tour to keep my membership. Played there two years ago. Like the course. Crowd is amazing. I just want to go back there and play some golf.
