Emilia Migliaccio

Conwy, Wales, UK

Quick Quotes

Q. Rachel, Emilia, 3&2. You've got another point on the board for Team USA day 2. Rachel, start with you first. How do you feel it went?

RACHEL KUEHN: We played great. We kept the ball in play. We hit our fairways. We hit our irons great and putted well. Kind of got some bad breaks that we hit some good putts that didn't fall early, and then they started to fall on the back.

We just played really steady, and we put the pressure on them, which is always a good thing in match play.

Q. Same pairing you came up against yesterday. How do you feel you did to turn things around and get the result in your favor this time?

EMILIA MIGLIACCIO: We weren't sure who our captain was going to put for the pairings, and when Rachel and I saw we were out together playing the same people, we were ready to go. Yesterday morning we kind of didn't quite get the momentum our way, a couple balls out of position, but today we were always in position. I think we only had one ball or two balls -- like one ball that was outside of the rough. So, yeah, I think that was really important for today.

Even though we were 1-down early, we knew that we were playing really well and they had made some really good par saves, so if we could just keep playing our game, we could come out on top.

Q. You closed the gap, Rachel. It was 3, and now after this morning's game it's now closed after Rose and Rachel's win. How much momentum does that give you going into this afternoon's play as well? Obviously, we don't know what's going to happen.

RACHEL KUEHN: Absolutely. Yesterday kind of by the end of it, we were a little frustrated. None of the matches seemed to go our way, but in the scheme of things, it was only 3 points, and that's one session. You go out and sweep a session, and that closes the gap right there. So that was our goal to come out and win all three matches this morning. Hopefully we'll be able to do that here.

But it's definitely giving us momentum. Even if we don't close the gap all the way, we can carry that into the afternoon session and then into singles tomorrow knowing that the team as a whole has more momentum than we did yesterday.

Q. Do you think that's just the togetherness of the Team USA group? No matter how far behind, you feel you can always bring it back?

EMILIA MIGLIACCIO: Definitely. We are all really close. We all have so much energy to bring the table. Even at dinner tonight, we were all laughing, like we're good players, we know we can play well. One day of golf is not going to change our belief in ourselves.
