Q. You and Rose have secured half a point for the USA in the opening foursomes. How did you feel it went out there?

RACHEL HECK: Yeah, it was good. It was such a hard-fought match, they played amazing as we knew they would, they're super-accomplished players, and Louise killed it last week in the AIG. We knew it was going to be a tough match and it definitely was. We fought to the end, it felt really good to birdie that last hole and secure the half point, it gives us a lot of momentum going into the afternoon.

Q. You mentioned the birdie on the last there, the momentum it gives you. How does that change the mindset knowing it went from nothing obviously to then half a point all in one putt?

RACHEL HECK: Yeah, I just think it was huge to get on the leaderboard. I think our whole team, everyone feels really good. Nothing quite went how we wanted to this morning, but everyone's game feels great, we're really hyped, ready for the afternoon, ready to get some more points.

Q. It was closely-fought golf out there. You seemed to all bring the best out of each other. Did you think that was going to be the case going into the match?

RACHEL HECK: Absolutely. I feel like these tournaments always do. You can't afford to hit bad shots and we definitely did. When I did hit bad shots, they would capitalize on them because that's what good players do.

Q. How did you find playing with Rose?

RACHEL HECK: Oh, she's one of my best friends, we have such a great time. If I had a little stretch where I struggled she just kept me smiling and happy. And we just do that for each other, we stay nice and calm, we have such a good time. We had a good time throughout the whole match whether we were up or down.
