AIG WOMEN'S OPEN

August 22, 2021

Lydia Ko

Carnoustie, Angus, Scotland, UK

Press Conference

Q. Four rounds at Carnoustie at the AIG Women's Open, how do you summarise your experience here at this major?

LYDIA KO: The golf course speaks for itself. Such a tough challenge out there. But I enjoyed it. I feel like I could have overall played a little better but you know, it was great that we could play some holes in the rain, some holes in the wind, some holes in the sun.

But overall, this was one of the most excited I've been to play the British Open, so great to have four rounds under the belt and hopefully we'll be able to come back here sometime soon.

Q. The roster gets better and better, a lot of good courses announced for the Women's Open. That must build anticipation for years to come for you and the field?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, I think it's great that we're going to some of these golf courses where there's a lot of history, and you know, some stand out more than others, but I think Muirfield is in the rotation within the next few years, as well. So I'm excited. It's a little bit of a different golf when you come out this way, so it's cool to play links golf when we get the opportunity.

Q. You finished under par which you mentioned is one of the few times at the Women's Open?

LYDIA KO: I think it's only my second time. The other time was when I had my best finish at Troon -- no, at Turnberry. I'm not sure what I shot last year but I don't think it was under par. But yeah, it might be only my second time, so second time on links, I'll take it.

Q. And now finally time for a little break?

LYDIA KO: I can't wait. It's been a long few weeks. I think my body is giving me signs, as well, so I'm excited for some time off.
