AIG WOMEN'S OPEN

August 21, 2021

Kelsey MacDonald

Carnoustie, Angus, Scotland, UK

Quick Quotes

Q. Nice little flurry on the back nine as well?

KELSEY MacDONALD: Yeah, I made birdie on 12. Hit a great shot into like ten feet and holed the putt. Then 14, chipped in for eagle. It was a very good shot. It was actually on a downslope on the back of the bunker, the spectacle bunkers, and it was pretty good.

And then hit a great drive off 15, great shot into about six feet and holed the putt. That was a good bit of momentum. First two days my front nine was really solid and my back nine dipped. Hopefully I can get a mixture of both.

Q. Was there a chance today?

KELSEY MacDONALD: It was tough this morning and then it's been pretty calm. I think if there's no wind, it's pretty good. But the first couple of holes was a grind because there was bait of wind and the rain was sideways.

With moisture in the air, you don't quite get your drive off and then you're in a bunker coming out sideways, so it just can escalate very quickly. I'm glad to just griped it out that front nine and then was able to get a few birdies on the back nine.

Q. What's next after this?

KELSEY MacDONALD: So the LET play in Sweden next week but I'm not playing in that. That would be quite a lot in row, so I'm going to take that week off and then join in Sweden for the second event, so that will be three in a row from there. So I'll take next week off.
