TRUST GOLF WOMEN'S SCOTTISH OPEN

August 14, 2021

Anna Nordqvist

Leven, Fife, Scotland, UK

Dumbarnie Links

Quick Quotes

Q. Good score but does the scorecard tell the story of playing around links golf?

ANNA NORDQVIST: Well, it's been blowing extremely hard the last three days. I've just been trying to stay patient. I've been hitting it really well. Missed a lot of putts out there today, 3-putts. I struggled a little with the speed of the greens.

But overall I've been hitting it really well. I think I had seven birdies today and I still missed -- I three-putted on 13 and hit it up there beautifully. I felt like I left a few shots out there. But overall I'm happy, this wind has been pretty brutal and felt like it was pretty still out there today and that didn't help the focus coming in.

Yeah, just made a few silly bogeys today but overall it's been a great week and happy the way I'm striking it. I'm enjoying links golf. Can be pretty brutal. Felt like I hit a lot of good shots out there today that just didn't end up where I thought they would. But in general, Dumbarnie has been a great venue this week.

Q. Putting yourself into contention, that must be great looking into the final round?

ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, I feel like I've been working really hard on my game the last couple months. It would be nice to see it finally pay off.

Q. I wanted to ask about the transition from the conditions you had in Tokyo, the stifling heat and the fresh air and wind that you have to cope with here.

ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, I think yesterday was a good 25 Celsius difference which would be, what, 45 something Fahrenheit difference. I'm Swedish, but I don't cope so well with the cold anymore. I had a lot of layers on the last few days. It's nice to have some fresh air.

Q. What's it like having to prepare and make sure you have the right paraphernalia?

ANNA NORDQVIST: Well, this is my eighth week in a row on the road, so I kind of have had to pack eight weeks ago. I brought a beanie and haven't been able to use it. Probably should have brought a little more clothes than I did, but also knowing that we were going to play in a lot of warm weather, I didn't want to pack too much for cold weather, too.

Q. You say this is your eighth week in a row. When is the last time you went eight weeks on the LPGA without going back home?

ANNA NORDQVIST: I went to Sweden the week before Evian and Olympics was kind of two weeks.

Q. But a little bit since you've been back in Arizona?

ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, it's been a long time and I haven't seen my husband for six weeks and that's been really hard. That's the way our travel goes this year. I guess it's just one more week, and then I'll be back home.
