BARRACUDA CHAMPIONSHIP

August 7, 2021

Adam Schenk

Truckee, California, USA

Tahoe Mountain Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Third round +11, heading into the final round at +38. How did today go?

ADAM SCHENK: Yeah, it went well. The course firmed up a little bit. Just driving it so nice so far this week, so the putter has not been as good as it's been the first day, but I'm still rolling it nice, and if the driver continues tomorrow, it should be a fun day.

Q. Seems like you play well in elevation here, T12 last year.

ADAM SCHENK: Yeah, I like the course. It's just weird, I drove it really well last year, so I guess I just like the way the course sets up, suits my eye. I feel like the ball -- I feel like I hit I try and hit it higher here, and the ball just seems to go pretty straight when it takes off. Hopefully that holds up tomorrow.

Q. Is there another strategy since it's a different format?

ADAM SCHENK: There's a lot of weird strategy. Obviously maybe a little more aggressive. But yeah, when you're -- the harder you swing and higher you hit it, it puts a lot of spin on the ball and it just goes forever, and if you hit a knock-down shot, a half wedge that never gets in the air, it definitely doesn't play the 10 percent, so it's a little tricky at times. But overall Brett and I have done pretty good. So one more day.

Q. Is there a certain game plan you'll be going over with your caddie tonight or what's the mindset heading into one more round?

ADAM SCHENK: Not really. I'll look over the pins tonight and my greens book, pick out the spots where you want to be and where you want to try and avoid and eat some dinner and go to bed, go from there.

Q. This tournament has a TOUR-leading five first-time winners in a row, so it's kind of a trend.

ADAM SCHENK: Yeah, that would be sweet. That would be sweet.

Q. With the FedExCup points you're 113, I believe, so how important is it with 300 FedExCup points on the line?

ADAM SCHENK: Yeah, it would be huge to get inside of top 70 of the FedExCup, or I guess that's what the projection was if I won, so I guess that would be nice, and get to the BMW. I don't know where it's at; I never played it before, so that would be a nice first time to play in it.
