Quick Quotes

Q. Gracious enough to have no problem doing this interview after a disappointing finish. In match play you can play okay and win and you can play really good and lose. Is today an example of the latter?

BROOKE MATTHEWS: I think so. I fought all day, Rachel fought all day. I know we both played really good, made a lot birdies.

I played good, played solid, but that's just what happens sometimes when you play the best in the world, you know.

Q. The best in the world is a great example of exactly what you did. Did you learn something about yourself going up against her and having such a great chance to advance?

BROOKE MATTHEWS: Yeah, absolutely. Just learned that you have to fight. You can't stop fighting. It doesn't matter who you're playing against. Anyone is beatable on the right day. You just never know when your day is going to be, so just keep fighting and someday you'll win the fight.
